What are THCA Diamonds?

Diamonds

ˈdī'əmənd | Noun

Definition:

A term used in the cannabis industry to describe crystalline structures, primarily THCA, that are developed in sauce extracts or isolated on their own.

“My sauce is full of THCA diamonds.”

“I like to add terpenes to my diamonds before dabbing.”

Diamonds range in size from very small to large chunks. THCA is a pseudopolymorph, meaning it can crystallize into multiple forms, but only when acted upon by variables such as temperature, moisture, and chemical impurities. Sterols, lipids, and even terpenes can impurify and alter the course of crystallization.

What are THCA Diamonds?

If you eat cannabis in its raw form, you will be consuming mostly THC-A and very little THC. People have normally heated cannabis to turn it into the more activated form, which is THC we are all familiar with.

You can take THCA more often throughout the day because it is not mind-altering. As always, go low and slow! Try it out in a controlled environment that you feel comfortable in until you know how it affects you.

You can expect a THCA tincture to take effect in about 20 minutes and last about two hours.

"The Sauce is made using a closed-loop system (explained in further detail below) that allows the resulting solution to settle under various pressures and temperatures. This environment promotes the natural separation of the major cannabinoids, including THCA in the form of diamonds (or THC diamonds as they're sometimes erroneously called), from the terpene-rich, liquid portion."

THC Diamonds are named for the clear Diamond like crystals that are formed with the THC/THCA crystals.

Next Level THCA Diamonds boast 99% pure THC content making them the strongest on the market. The remaining 1% of THC diamond is made up of terpenes and other cannabinoids. They are made in a mixture of the organic terpenes making them taste and smell phenomenal.

This is THC in its purest form possible. When comparing THC crystals to the average marijuana plant, it is easy to see the difference to get an idea of the possible experience you should expect.

Cannabis flowers contain an average of 15%-25% THC, and THC diamonds contain almost a full 100%. The potency of using THC crystals is 4 times stronger than that of your common dried herb.

Diamonds is a top-shelf concentrate that is favoured by true cannabis connoisseurs. The impacts of using THC diamonds are intense and not for the faint of heart.

While the product wasn't as "diamond-like" as I was expecting, it was still a beautiful color with amazing effects. Review coming soon on our Instagram @Cannabizzzjanes

Why Wont Pure THCA Get Me High?

Here are some common ways to decarboxylate your cannabis:

THCA does not induce the psychological effects THC is prized for. However, through the decarboxylation process, THC-a converts to THC.

Smoking: When lighting your cannabis in any way of combustible consumption (joint, bong, hookah, spliff, vape.) The heat produced by the flame decarboxylates resulting in the rapid conversion of THCA to THC. It is the most common method of consuming cannabis, however - it isn't the most effective or efficient.

Sunlight conversion: THCA converts to THC in varying degrees through exposure to heat or light. If a cannabis plant sits in the warm sun for an extended period of time, its THCA molecules will slowly convert to THC.

Room temperature conversion: THCA also converts to THC when stored at room temperature for a long enough time. In olive oil, 22% of THCA will convert over the course of 10 days at 77 degrees Fahrenheit, or 25 degrees Celsius. Under the same conditions, 67% will convert in ethanol extraction. And over time, cannabis stored at room temperature and with little light exposure will convert 20% of its THCA into THC.

Are There Any Benefits to Using THC-A?

While there isn't enough research to confirm that THCA has other medical benefits different from THC. THCA still has the same effects of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) such as:

  • Analgesic - Are distinct from anesthetics, meaning it can relieve pain.

  • Antispasmodic - A muscle spasm relaxer. which THC may naturally provide.

  • Anti-Insomnia - Cannabis has been very efficient in its abilities to help patients sleep, here are some strains that could help you STRAINS

  • Antiemetic - THC has been used to reduce vomiting, nausea, and and appetite loss. As well as for me my Endometriosis episodes.

To be exact, referred to as “the world’s strongest hash” this crystalized extract is gaining some serious traction as the most potent dab on the market. At more than 99 percent pure THC-A, these ultra-processed little gems can range from small grains to gravel-sized pieces, and they’re definitely for experienced smokers only.

Crystalline cannabinoids work well for oral ingestion as they can be prepared into foods and even portioned into pills or capsules. Because these cannabinoids are so pure, they are easy to dose.

Those who wish to rapidly activate their crystalline cannabinoids often do so through vaporization and dabbing. By dabbing or vaporizing THCA crystalline, decarboxylation occurs near instantaneously, breaking down the inactive, acidic cannabinoid into THC. CBDA crystalline may be vaporized and dabbed as well, although activated CBD is not intoxicating. However, it can still be used to harness medical benefits and temper the intoxicating effects of THC.

In layman’s terms, THCa is the acidic form of THC that’s found in cannabis. When you smoke, vaporize or cook with the bud, the heat turns THCa into THC, which is what “activates” the molecule and allows us to get high from it. It’s why eating bud won’t get you high, but smoking it will.

More accurately, tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCa) is a psychoactive, non-psychotropic acidic precursor to THC, CBNa and CBN found in raw cannabis. THCa doesn’t appear to interact with either CB1 or CB2 receptors, and research is sparse in terms of its effects. Raw cannabis leaves are popularly juiced or brewed into teas for their THCa content. THCa in particular has been shown to assist with pain relief, nausea, insomnia, sleep apnea, seizures, epilepsy, muscle spasticity, anorexia, cachexia and bulimia.

  • WARNING: The smoke from cannabis is harmful. Toxic and carcinogenic chemicals found in tobacco smoke such as polyaromatic hydrocarbons, aromatic amines, and N-heterocyclics are also found in cannabis smoke.
  • WARNING: Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding. Substances in cannabis are transferred from the mother to child and can harm your baby.
  • WARNING: Do not drive or operate heavy equipment after using cannabis. Cannabis can cause drowsiness and impair your ability to concentrate and make quick decisions.
  • WARNING: Frequent and prolonged use of cannabis containing THC can contribute to mental health problems over time. Daily or near-daily use increases the risk of dependence and may bring on or worsen disorders related to anxiety and depression.
  • WARNING: Adolescents and young adults are at greater risk of harms from cannabis. Daily or near-daily use over a prolonged period of time can harm brain development and function.
  • WARNING: The higher the THC content of a product, the more likely you are to experience adverse effects and greater levels of impairment. THC can cause anxiety and impair memory and concentration.
  • WARNING: It can take up to 4 hours to feel the full effects from eating or drinking cannabis. Consuming more within this time period can result in adverse effects that may require medical attention.
  • WARNING: The effects from eating or drinking cannabis can be long-lasting. The effects can last between 6 and 12 hours following use.

In no way is this medical advise. Contact YOUR doctorCrystalline THC can only activate by a process called decarboxylation (fancy science talk for "adding heat to it"), so ingesting this substance will yield no effect. Relatedly, the best method of consumption for this particular type of concentrate, much like many others, is dabbing it with a trusty dab rig. If you don't have one, contact us, and we'll gladly point you in the right direction. "

How To Create THC-A Diamonds And Live Resin

Royalty in cannabis extracts, creating THCa diamonds takes a special touch.

The process of creating diamonds and live resin is complicated, science and math are needed to create the proper measurements for the mechanical separation, or fractional melting in this case, is a method of using heat and mechanical force to separate a substance into its constituent parts based on their differences in melting points. Rosin Press and all the same equipment you use to make rosin, are great tools, every dabber should invest in.

While the other process may take a while, and so you feel out of luck because you want to make live resin happen quickly.

The best method for you, is to create butane hash oil (BHO), and then purge it at about 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Doing so will evaporate most of the butane. Once that's done, seal the concentrate in a container and leave it for two to three weeks.

Diamond Mining can be done with cured resin, but live resin more readily lends itself to the process. As with all extraction, starting material is the key to everything that follows, and there are no shortcuts or workarounds when it comes to this step--- Find the best possible dank you can find, higher in THC levels the better.

During this time, the THCa naturally crystallizes at the bottom of the container. The remaining mixture is live resin. After the crystals form, separate them from the live resin. It should be a manageable task, as the live resin will pour off. If the two won't separate, they can still be purged together. However, ideally, live resin and crystals are purged at different times.

After purging and recrystallization, both the crystals and the live resin are ready! Either recombine them for a flavorful concentrate or use them separately for different products.
